When you learn to play the acoustic guitar, it is pretty fun for the guitarist but also a genuine treat for your audience. The majority of students don’t know that many of their favorite songs are only using a few chords, but that doesn’t mean they are less enjoyable. Actually, many popular songs are simple and can easily be mastered when looked at from their chord structure. To prove that to you, here are five easy guitar songs that you can learn simply.

1. For What It’s Worth Buffalo Springfield made this into a hit in the 60′s. Nearly all of this song utilizes A and E chords, and the chorus uses both C and D as well. As you can likely see, there isn’t much intricacy to the song, and you should be able to come across easy instructions regarding how to strum when singing the verses.

2. Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door Bob Dylan, then later Guns ‘N Roses, made this song famous, but it is surprisingly easy to play. You should try YouTube for a video lesson, which would give you an example of when to play the chord and also show you the timing of how long you would hold every note.

3. Redemption Another one on this listing of acoustic easy guitar songs is Bob Marley’s tour de force, “Redemption.” This can be a little bit more difficult to play the way it uses more chords than the other two songs, but continue to be inside the basic chord range and should be learned from that standpoint. This song makes use of Am, Em, G, D in addition to C chords. It can appear more complex, but it is a good quality beginner’s way in to guitar.

4. Wish You Were Here This song was first performed by the famous band, Pink Floyd. When you play, “Wish You Were Here,” the chords that you use are going to be G, D, Am, A and Em. 5. Time of Your Life First played and recorded by the great band Green Day, an instant hit, this piece is one of those easy guitar songs this will definitely raise some eyebrows. Many claim that it can be monotonous, however. You may see that some places of the song that will play a note nine times…Nonetheless, though it may appear simplistic, it is still noteworthy. You need to know D, Em, C and G chords to pull it off.
