Free Soccer Drills:Secrets Revealed
An easy way to explain to the players about the role of free soccer drills. You don’t need to follow any rules. Being the coach you have the freedom to innovate and make your own drills and games.
Be on the lookout for new ideas to modify the soccer exercises and alter them to suit the requirements. For starters I have shared my experiences for forming a creative soccer training program.
Your plan shouldn’t be rigid. Not every plan will materialize as planned. The kids will be absent only when it rains or get sick. Make sure you have adequately covered all the potential obstructers.
We should have plenty of planned soccer practice games. If some do not fit into your schedule, eliminate them and go to the next. Don’t enforce anything, just do what the kids like, you will soon realize what works with them.
All the kids should warm up before any practice session. Apart from warming up the body by regular soccer drill the kids should use the soccer ball also. You can make them rotate the ball using both the feet, kick the ball back and forth between the feet and so on.
For warm up activity there are plenty of free soccer drills available which are fun too.
A soccer ball is made available to each of the soccer player. Many individual activities should be planned that can be performed using the ball. Activities such as shooting, dribbling and hitting the ball against the wall should be practiced. No marking or lines should be made on the ground so that the movement of players shouldn’t be hindered.
The players in soccer coaching should be indulged in group activities upon completion of the individual activities. For example; passing and receiving the ball are fun drills to practice. The kids should be grouped into teams and should ask to play soccer without any goal keeper. Don’t set boundaries for this game and allow the players to hit the goals.
The players should be taught to defend after learning to attack. This will give them a free hand in developing their own unique style.
During this drill groups of teams should be formed by the players. The kids take up some time to adjust from individual to group activities to learn the concept of team play. The role of the coach is to just guide the players.
Make them realize the concept of interdependence to win matches. The players learn to work as a team, practice in a limited area while not doing much the ball, this is the biggest impact of this drill.
Handling soccer exercise in this way is the easiest. Be innovative and integrate different free soccer drills which will be helpful to the kids to learn.
