Many beginning guitar players are taught in the classical style. They are saddled with giant guitars with plastic strings and forced to learn music that they would never be caught listening to themselves. This is no way to teach a child or even an adult a skill. In order to learn, we must be interested and intrigued, and listening to obscure music that is centuries old is not the way to do it.
