the Role of Perfect Assessments in the Learning Management System

Studying can now be made easy, thanks to Learning Management Systems which are gaining popularity of late. Perfect assessment of students’ performance is extremely important in the case of advanced studies like medicine. Histology assessment was brought into existence to serve this purpose.

There are three things that have an influence on a student’s performance: skill, school and surrounding.  All these factors are essential to decide if the assessment can be regarded as a catalyst in the learning process.

Though it is a well known fact that assessments are essential in an LMS, the frequency and method employed should be checked such that it doesn’t affect the student’s learning skills.  No one can gain a deep knowledge in any subject if he/she adopts rote learning methods. Assessments should not be conducted at frequent intervals because the student will not get adequate time to really learn the lessons.

Neither of the scenarios spoken about can benefit a student. This is why assessments have to be conducted in a manner that doesn’t affect the student’s knowledge and skills. This would make students understand that assessments are a part of the curriculum and essential to test their knowledge.

The assessment should be properly planned as it is an integral part of the LMS. The subject can be made easy to understand by integrating the book knowledge with practical knowledge. This process would work wonders in making students learn subjects easily and also aids the learning system.

In this style of assessment the teacher’s involvement will be high too. Thus the teacher will also gain knowledge on effective training methods which is essential for the success of the LMS module.

The Learning Management System module favours only individual assessments and not group tests. Thus, students will have to prepare well for the tests in this case. Customization of the assessment process will also be able to enhance the student’s learning.

These modifications in assessment procedures are caused due to the advancements in teaching. Both the methods of teaching and the methods of testing have to be changed accordingly.

Teachers are not hesitating to adopt these changes as they prove to give good results.  By doing this one should never forget the existing system too. These modifications in LMS are not something alien, they are only part of the whole thing. This shows that both traditional methods as well as new ones have to exist together.
