The self contained, portable and compact Minimoog Model D were available to buy in the summer of 1970 and was praised for being affordable, but this was only if you compared it it to the cost of the modular synthesisers. It wasn’t until the appearance of the Japanese synthesisers manufactured by the likes of Yamaha, Roland and Korg and the English Wasp made by EDP that musicians began to witness something which could be described as being anywhere near affordable.
