The guitar is a resonably simple instrument to make. This makes it a perfect candidate for construction in places where they can produce it for a fairly cheap price. This type of competition is driving costs (and therefore prices) down while quality goes up. In this regard, you can get a better guitar at most price points than you can get most other instruments of equilvalent quality at.

Guitars are designed to be as accessible and easy to play for the most people as possible (they even have smaller instruments if you do find a standard guitar too big). Weight wise as well they are very comfortable and easy to play sitting down or standing up. Even for a long period of time.

Portability is a great feature of the guitar. You can take it anywhere you go, even if you are going on foot. If you do travel with it a lot, you can buy a case that makes it easy to carry with straps that let you wear it like a backpack. The weight and size of the instrument make this very easy for most people to handle.

The guitar is the ultimate instrument for any setting. You can play it by itself or with a band/group. Also, you can play it and sing or back up someone else who sings. There really is no need for any other instruments though as you can get great music from the guitar by itself.

Some people say that the guitar is one of the easiest instruments to play. This is because there is a lot less to learn to play a guitar than there is with other instruments. They say that you could conceivably be at the point of being able to play a song faster on a guitar than with almost anything else.

The great thing about guitars is that there is one for every occasion or musical situation (in one word, the guitar is a super VERSATILE instrument. If you are just playing around a campfire, even a cheap acoustic would be adequate. If you are playing in a big hall with a band, you can get an electric guitar with an amplifier. Even among these categories of guitars, there are so many subcategories (many of which lend themselves more to personal preference), that there is bound to be a guitar to suit every person’s taste. Even if volume is an issue, you can make any guitar louder, while the lowest volume most guitars can be played at is very quiet. The range in volume is huge!

Cost may be a huge factor in your decision of whether to take physical lessons or purchase an online learn-guitar course. The cost of taking enough private lessons to cover all the lessons that a good online guitar program covers would be substantially higher than the cost of the course. This is a real advantage to taking online guitar lessons (and why most people should consider a good guitar course online before they decide to start one-on-one lessons).

Another great advantage of learning guitar through an online program is that you don’t have to work at the speed of a teacher. You can work at whatever speed you are most comfortable with. This means that you don’t have to feel obligated to practice at certain times just so your teacher won’t get mad. You can practice and learn whenever you have time. That is why this style of program is so great for someone that is very busy but still wants to learn. Also, if you have lots of time you don’t have to wait till next week for your next lesson if you have mastered the previous lesson concepts in the first day.

In a day and age where most people don’t have very much spare time, online guitar courses have real value. You can learn whenever it best fits your schedule and you don’t have to spend any of your valuable spare time with small-talk. No “how are you doing?” or “what did you get up to last night?”, just “here’s what to do to sound like a guitar god”.

One of the hardest parts of creating a full online course is organizing a logical progression for the lessons. This can be the most time consuming part for the teacher. With that being said, if it is done well, it can be one of the most important to you, the student. That is because it’s hard to organize what to teach first to someone learning guitar and as a result, a lot of one-on-one lessons you have with teachers will involve quite a bit of jumping around. When you buy a course on the Internet (that someone has put effort into organizing in a logical way), it can be much easier to follow and therefore much more effective to learn from.

Having all the lessons pre-recorded is a big plus for you as a student. You can then revisit them as many times as you want to to ensure you learn everything they have to offer. Not being able to do this is actually a huge issue with physical lessons. You get so much information that is difficult to remember all of it. As a result, you end up having to re-learn it again.

If you go for a modern program on the net, you should get some great production value as well. There is a wealth of things that a creative techie can do with software to help enrich your learning. They can include visual aids and tabs/notations that can make the lessons much easier to follow than having to multitask between both hands and the music when you have a physical teacher playing in front of you.

If you are a busy person, you may find it a burden to have to get to a lesson every week. Travel time can be a big factor for some people looking to take lessons if the school/teacher is not in their area. This can be completely avoided with online lessons. You just have to get to your computer and turn it on.

See www.squidoo.com to find the best online guitar lessons.

There is so many types of songs to choose from in the world. So many styles and ways to play available to pick from. These styles can influence the type of music instruments you pick to interpret sound. Depending on whether you love rock or blues will determine the type of guitar you buy. Knowing what you want to sound like will help with the process.

Once you have narrowed down the type you like you need to decide on how you want to learn it on. There are usually the strings, woodwinds, horns, and percussion. All styles of sounds have each aspect involved in creating their notes and beats. So it is up to you to know which group you like the most.

Whichever instrument you choose, the genre will determine how you learn to manipulate the tool. Classical music has a different way of teaching and learning the notes. While jazz and blues learn more by chords. So that means you not only need the proper instruments but the appropriate teacher as well.

Guitars are a perfect example of this issue. There are hundreds of different guitars in the world today and some of those have the tone to play rock while others are more akin to the earthier sounds of jazz or blues. What guitar you pick will help you master the pitches needed to excel in the genre you pick.

However, there is a saying, it’s not the arrow, it’s the Indian. That means that no matter what musical instrument you pick it is you that will determine the quality of sound and the strength of how the instrument plays.

These tools are like people. They have issues, concerns, and idiosyncrasies too. That’s why getting to know how they work is important to being able to bring great sounds from them. And once you learn the one you chose you will find yourself wanting to learn another and another. Like languages the speech they give you will invoke you to want to communicate more and in a different musical language.

People who play in the music industry have fallen to this and many of them play multiple tools to express their creative talents and voice. These guitars, pianos, and drums become more than just something you maneuver and become a way to express yourself. And since what you listen to is so personal any meaning can be found from any piece of music, it is all in how it is played.

Being able to create beauty in harmony is aided by not only being dedicated to your ability but also learning the basis of these sounds. How you learn and how you bring that to your own inspiration of playing is individual. Some can play by ear learning only by hearing the notes. But others need to know technique. But the best is an incorporation of both things to a solid foundation in music.

Adding this all together creates a chance for your music instruments to be more than just something you do but to be a part of who you are. Your personal emotions and truths can be displayed in how you play them. And even more, you can impress and inspire others to try the same path.

If you want to learn to play bass, then you have decided on a great instrument to learn. Some of you may holistically listen to music, and may not realize that the bass guitar is the deep sound you usually hear in the background.

The bass guitar is used to provide great undertones, and also are used to provide a beat, along with the drums. And it’s available in all forms of music, from rock to hip hop, as well as some international styles.

The bass guitar resembles a regular guitar, but it is both larger and has four strings. There are some exceptions to that, but most bass guitars come with strings that vibrate at the notes E, A, D, and G.

Now, if you do not know what those notes represent, do not worry! You will practice them soon, once you start playing the guitar.

If you have clicked here, then obviously you are extremely fascinated in the bass and have enjoyed with the sound it makes. There are a sizable group of known bands who are known for their moments on the bass because they mastered its resonating music.

You can do this too!

Bear in mind that if you want to become decent with the bass, then you will need to practice. Learning an instrument always demands a lot of commitment and practice, and the bass is not an exception.

Paying for classes to learn to play bass is very important both when you start and for further improvement once you know how to play.

If you are not able to pay for personal classes, then you can buy CDs, DVDs, and a variety of books, which introduce you to the bass. The method of study that you choose will also depend on if you are someone who can commit to individual study or if you prefer to have someone who can guide you.

Because the bass guitar requires practice, it is advisable to purchase your own bass. If you still study in school, then you may have access to school-owned bass guitars, but this does not always give you the ability to practice on your schedule.

Planning to have practice time at least three times a week is extremely crucial if you want to learn to play the bass, since practicing is the key to mastering the bass guitar.

The guitar is a seductive instrument. Once you begin taking lessons, you’ll be caught up in the sound and being able to make music yourself. You’ll also be proud of yourself for trying and then accomplishing your goal of becoming a guitarist.

You can even teach yourself guitar these days, as many people boast. With the DVDs around that offer an audio visual approach to learning, that’s certainly a very strong possibility.

Following these steps will lead you to your goal of becoming an excellent guitar player.

The guitar is not a easy instrument to learn and in the beginning it may seem like an impossible task but you must not give up because if you continue you will get past the difficult parts and be able to play many songs.

Learning the guitar requires a lot of patience and tedious hours of work, if you are a person that never finishes a hard task then this might not be the instrument for you. It takes a lot of hard work to master the guitar but once you have mastered it you will be overjoyed and will want to share your new skill with all your friends.

Many times pain in the fingers will occur, the only suggestion that people give is just to continue on and try to forget the pain. Rock stars have gone through the same pain and have made millions for it.

Practice makes perfect. Once you have learned a piece of the song you will be able to play it. Next, you will be able to upgrade to the whole song and then long renditions of the song. Once you have mastered all that you will be able to play the whole song blindfolded and feel the satisfaction and pride tha you are a mastered guitar player.

There’s just a feeling of pride and accomplishment that warms your heart when you know you’ve put in the effort and it’s paid of. Then you’ll know that all the weeks and months of dedication have been worth it because you’re now a guitarist, which means you’re a true musician.

These musicians weren’t just spectators. These great musicians have put the signature beat on some of the great rock anthems. Paul McCartney is also a bass player, I heard he’s done pretty well for himself. Or maybe your kid wants to hand out with the Marsalis brothers or David Sanbourne. Nothing wrong with that. If you get a kids bass guitar, you can do your part to make sure this tradition continues.

Another thing you must think about is, can the bass be the right instrument for your child? Well, think about where it fits into the history of rock and roll. No rhythm section is complete without a great bass guitarist. Bill Wyman, John Entwhistle, Gary Tallent, all have two things in common. They were the quiet members of their great bands, and they were backbone of the bands. They chilled while 60,000 fans yelled for more.

After a little practice, Once they learn the instrument they will be in demand for every jazz trio or garage band in town. A win-win situation if ever there was one.

The sensual and colorful pitch of electric guitars was the pinnacle of rock and roll. During the 1950′s, this type of music was being experimented with and then in the 60′s and 70′s, that style was improved upon until it transformed into rock and roll. The crispness of sound that comes out of an electric guitar is amazing. It is amazing to ponder where music would have gone if it hadn’t been for the improvement upon the electric guitar; a scary thought. A band with no electric guitar is like a baby without its mother.

Electric guitars come in several different contours, sizes, colors, and designs. Some people have the belief that it does not bear significance what electric guitar that is used because they all are the same thing. This is just false; brand, size, pickups, and neck matter in the sound that comes from the electric guitar. So, certain brands of electric guitars are seen and played for decades because of the precision that is put into making them. However, the largest contributing factor to the sound made is the pickups.

Whether creating a band, jamming solo, or adding instruments to your band’s collection, you should be aware of the different arrangement of pickups used in electric guitars before you go out and purchase one. Many instrument shops will let you you testing them and can be very helpful in providing information and assisting one in picking the most appropriate electric guitar. Make sure to learn about the different types of pickups. Thestyles of pickups for electric guitars are:

* Single Coil Pickups – This style has a single wire and coil. This type is the oldest of electric guitar arrangements. When strumming on single coil pickup, the sound is affected by other frequencies in the air which create a hum with the music. These types of pickups are rarely seen today but still used by some very well known rockers because of the old style sound they make.

* Humbucker Pickups – This pickup consists of two coils wherein the unwanted hum of the single coil pickup is eliminated. In essence, the coil carries two signals: one that the music is producing and one that cancels out the hum. The actual piece responsible for this is called a Humbucker which was patented in 1954. The humbucker is basically the arrangement of two coils.

* Double Coil Pickups – arrangement of pickups, like in the name, consist of two coils. However, for an unknown reason, guitar players do enjoy the hum sound for certain songs so the double coil pickup electric guitars usually come with a switch that can turn off the second coil.

There are of other contributors that go into the sound an electric guitar produces. However, pickups are the most essential component of sound. Other things like: neck length, shape, material, frets, and tuners make a difference too but not like the pickups. For a very long time, musicians have been trying new things in hopes to finding the perfect guitar to make the optimal sound. Rock and roll has changed in some ways but in other ways it has not.

Whether to buy the Epiphone Les Paul guitar or not is a favourite topic to be discussed by people who like to play a guitar as well as other music lovers. Guitars such as the Epiphone Les Paul are affordable but not cheap; you get an inexpensively priced quality guitar.

The history of the Epiphone Les Paul guitar goes way back in the late 1800′s when Anastasios Stathopoulos from Turkey mastered his ability in creating string instruments. When his family migrated to the United States in the early 1900′s, he put his skills to good use.

He made a company solely based on his craft. The timing was right since America took a liking to these musical string instruments. In 1928, the family began making the first Epiphone model. The name originated from Epamimondas, the name of the guitar maker’s son. However, Gibson bought the guitar company in 1957.

The great response from their customers prompted the company to venture out to guitar-making. The name Epiphone was actually taken after Anastasios’ son, Epamimondas, in 1928. However, after a few decades of operation, the company was bought by Gibson in the late 1950s.

In the early 1950s, Gibson introduced the Les Paul electric guitar, named after the popular guitarist Les Paul who also invented his own solid body for the guitar. Gibson designed a different version of the guitar while still incorporating suggestions from Les Paul and using him as the endorser for the new product.

The Epiphone Les Paul guitars are affordable yet they do not sacrifice quality; to make this possible, they utilised cheap materials and low labour cost in places like Korea. But nonetheless it is still a good guitar.

But because of the notion that cheap guitars are of low quality, people often find themselves arguing over it. Some would say that the tone is not at par with the original Gibson Les Paul guitars, and others would say the Epiphone necks are not very user-friendly.

Moreover, they added that the structure of the Epiphone’s neck also makes it difficult for the user to hold. Some would further say that due to the cheap materials used, the model really is inferior to the original Gibson guitars.

The truth of the matter is that the Epiphone is very much the same as the standard Les Paul guitar, built with more mahogany pieces, yet the sound is the same.

Users of the Epiphone guitar have not complained about it and they say the pickups are the same as the Gibson standard, and although the heads tend to move more than the standard, this helps to keep it tuned. If you take a good look at both the Epiphone and the standard Les Paul guitar, you will find no difference at all!

When one will attach the adjective “cheap” to a product, what one would usually think about is that it is low in quality. However, the Epiphone Les Paul guitar may just be an exception. This model has certain attributes that may convince you to buy it despite the stereotyped “low” quality due to its price.

The first Les Paul guitar model came into being in the 1950′s when Gibson, the new owner, created and produced them based on the designs made by Les Paul himself, a famous guitarist and a guitar inventor too. At first, Les Paul’s initial plans and sketches on how a solid body guitar should look was ignored by Gibson.

In the early 1950s, Gibson introduced the Les Paul electric guitar, named after the popular guitarist Les Paul who also invented his own solid body for the guitar. Gibson designed a different version of the guitar while still incorporating suggestions from Les Paul and using him as the endorser for the new product.

In order to make the guitars more affordable, the materials needed to be economical, including the labour costs which is why they are manufactured in Korea. The resulting guitar became what is now called as the Epiphone Les Paul guitar. The Epiphone Les Paul guitar is a modified version of Gibson’s original creation.

Fond guitar users would usually heat up the Yes and No sides as to the argument of how good the Epiphone model is compared to the original Gibson creation. The critics would say that the tone emanating from the Epiphone models will not level up to the quality produced by the original.

In truth, the quality of the Epiphone Les Paul guitar is not much different from the original Gibson design. It has been modelled from the original Gibson guitars with almost the same inlays. It may be a bit lighter compared to the original but according to guitar users, they find it to be more responsive and the sound to be almost identical to the original Les Paul.

The truth of the matter is that the Epiphone is very much the same as the standard Les Paul guitar, built with more mahogany pieces, yet the sound is the same.

Aside from these similarities, the Gibson and the Epiphone models are physically created to look similar, almost like twins.
