Walking bass is something SOOO many bass players have difficulty with. But – It's really a lot easier than you think.

Through years of teaching and experimenting with different methods I've come up with my own 'fool proof' method of getting students well on their way to becoming great at creating their own walking bass lines.

In this walking bass lesson I show you how I actually teach my own personal students using this method and why they seem to be able to start creating there own walking bass lines much faster than most other students. That's why this lesson is great not only for student bassists but also bass teachers too. Try using this method with your students and you'll get amazing results – fast.

This is 'Part 1' of this lesson… look out for part 2!!!

Right now over 10,000 bass players are enrolled in the Academy here at Scott's Bass Lessons and are making a real difference to their playing… if you're really serious about getting your bass playing together, click here to find out more and grab your FREE trial:

  1. Seeing lesson videos with a lot of views like this always makes me wonder how many of the 1+ million people actually learnt walking bass.

  2. you’ll find out soon enough, the harder the material the less videos and less views. Shitty strummy dummy lessons = millions of views, a good explanation of modes = barely breaking 10k.

  3. Very nice, easy to understand, for a long time I been wanting to learn walking bass, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.

  4. I’m 25 yo, am I too old to start playing? It’s a serious question. Everyone started playing in their teenage years and I’m turning 25 this year.

  5. about 90% of the video he’s just talking talking and talking
look at my shiny head! look at my gloves! buy my lessons blah blah blah
Is it that hard to record 30 sec stuff that would REALLY help?

  6. Nice Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about – Riddleagan Blossoming Solo Remedy (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one off product for mastering guitar scales without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my close friend Aubrey got amazing success with it.

  7. thanx a lot, i am beginner and this is goooood!! i am a guitar player but i like learn to bass too <3

  8. Well, as a total beginner, (the lesson is called “beginners” for a reason…) I found it very useful.
I had to look up what in the world was a “Dm7” chord, and suchlike, but once I got it, I could follow very well, and found very interesting the way you can play up and down to give the bass line a different feel…

  9. brand new bass player here. like literally dont even know any cords or anything so if someone could point me toward a good video to start off with to start learning would be very helpful 🙂

  10. Scott, you are good teacher when it comes to bass playing, you keep it so simple and easy.
