I recently picked up an Ibanez SRX 400 bass in a trade deal. It has become my knocking around bass here at home. Since it didn’t come with any case and I can’t see paying the $120.00 or so dollars for the Ibanez HSC I decided to go with a gig bag. Target price was under $30 and so I thought the ChromaCast CC-BPB-BAG at under $20.00 would do OK.

Pleasantly surprised to be a new ChromaCast fan

I really bought this for the backpack-style straps, but it’s got zippered pockets that hold more than I could possibly need. The front and side handles have flexible plastic grips, which are nice. What I really like about the ChromaCast bag (pictured on the right), compared to the Fender gig bag (pictured on the left), is that the body of the bag is not cut symmetrically, with a zipper running along the center. The rear of the bag cradles the guitar, while the front panel covers the front. My guitar doesn’t sit atop the zipper in this bag. The overall footprint of the ChromaCast bag is smaller, too. It’s a more fitted cut than the Fender bag. Since I usually buy a case/bag for specific instruments, I have not found any utility in the wiggle room in the Fender bag.

I’ve been a touring musician for over 20yrs and I bought this for my cheap beater 3/4 traveler acoustic guitar. I figured since I didn’t care much about the guitar I wasn’t gonna buy an $80 gig bag for it but I still needed something to throw it in when I hopped on the subway. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from such a cheap gig bag but I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. I think I paid $23 for it and in my 20 years of touring I’ve seen much higher end gig bags for a lot more money with the same quality. Don’t get me wrong guys, you get what you paid for but again the quality definitely surprised me for the price. This will do just fine for my little beater acoustic and let’s get real for a second, if you have a guitar that’s worth more than a couple hundred dollars you’re gonna want to put it in a hardshell case NOT a gig bag. This I think will provide just as much protection as any gig bag would but I’m not gonna put my Les Paul in it any time soon. When you go on tour you use hardshell cases PERIOD but for cheaper stuff this is great!

Good bag. 2 mms padding, lots of pockets with zippers. Even has 3 ways of carrying/holding the bass. On the back/shoulder, on the side, and in the middle. Holds my full sized bass perfectly with good balance and comfort. Has pockets to fit my book and cable and mini amp if needed or wanted.

Great gig bag for Les Paul!

This is the best inexpensive gig bag for a Les Paul. I’ve purchased and returned (2) others – the $20 Epiphone bag (terrible!) and $24 Gator (better than Epi bag but no where near as good as the ChromaCast, ). The ChromaCast is heavy duty nylon, has a larger, tougher zipper and many pockets. The straps are padded and the bag will protect my Epiphone Les Paul Standard as well as any gig bag. If you’re going on tour you should use a hard shell case, but if all you need is a gig bag, this one is excellent. I have not received any merchandise for free or at a discount for any of my opinions/reviews!

I ordered the ChromaCast Electric Bass Guitar bag for my oldest son. He was very impressed with the bag and stated that it was exactly what he was looking for. It is durable and protects his guitar, the most important quality for an instrument case! I was very happy with the quality of the product for the reasonable price. This is definitely a better product than similar merchandise that we looked at for a higher price at the local guitar shop. One of the nicest features is the strap and pocket for storing other equipment or music. It is light and portable, not adding much weight to the instrument when carrying around or storing in your car. We will continue to purchase more items from this vendor and of this type in the future. If you are looking for a great bag for your money, this is the one!

Better than others for twice the cost. Highly recommended.

I’ve been using gig bags for years. Most of them are pretty standard. I needed a bag extra quick for cheap for a used bass I just purchased. Bought the ChromeCast not expecting much. I’ve owned both the SKB World Tour and Road Runner cases. This one surprisingly is better than all three. It’s built better, has a lot of pockets, and all the zippers and pockets are solid and work well. Like another reviewer mentioned, the case came rolled in a square box rather than folded. So it laid out nice and was usable on first try. I’m buying two more of these for my working basses. They do a great job and are well worth the money.

Nice Gig Bag!

Excellent case, lots of useful pockets for music, strings, cables and a long one at the top end that could hold your fold up music or guitar stand.

Protect Your Guitars and Ukuleles. These Are a Must!!

These padded gig bags are absolutely essential. I have now purchased 4 of these bags. One for each of my Ukuleles and my Telecaster. I have found that the bags that often come with a new instrument are just too thin to be of any use. They have now padding will not offer any protection. These ChromaCast bags are perfect. They have very tough ballistic nylon covers and more than enough padding. The straps are convenient and comfortable. All the bags come with convenient pockets. The electric guitar bag comes with more zippered storage pockets than I honestly know what to do with. They are reasonable priced compared to other brands. Great value

This is a really good gig bag for your guitar if you don’t knock …

This is a really good gig bag for your guitar if you don’t knock it around much & excellent if you need something at home to keep the dust off. I bought the Jumbo Gig Bag, took it out of the box & put my Epiphone EJ-200SCE Jumbo guitar in it. After stretching the bag & zippers a little bit it fit perfectly. I think the bag will stretch further after a few days. It’s only $20 & a bargain for a gig bag. Please realize the padding is thin & only offers minimal protection, though you’ll have pockets galore.. I rated it 5 stars because it fits my needs.
